Happy Holidays

Hello World.

I hope you all have enjoyed your time off and time with your family and friends. I know I sure have! Just a couple of updates for you all out there in the magical land of the interweb. As mentioned before, Patricia Barrett and her in-house IT person will be joining us on January 26th at our second Club Web meeting. I will let you all know of the change in venue, as we will be serving pizza as well as hearing about the exciting new project we will be working on for St. Vincent's Meals On Wheels program. This will be your chance to hear what she has envisioned for us as well as your chance to ask her any questions about the project or how to volunteer your personal time to SVMOW.

The second announcement is that the first week of class is also known as Club Rush and we will be having our very own shiny new booth at the Club Rush week on January 13th from 12:00 to 1:00. Right now Joe Dailey has volunteered to man the booth from 12:00 to 1:00 but we would appreciate another volunteer or two to sit in with him and help recruit some new members to Club Web. Unfortunately I will be late for the event as I am flying into LA from Canada that day and getting landing at LAX at 11:30. I will try to make it for the last part of the Club Rush, but we all know how Los Angeles traffic can be...

I would like to wish you a relaxing safe and happy last bit of winter break. I hope you are all well rested and ready to help out with the SVMOW project. See you in 2010!

Meals On Wheels update

Hello World,
We met with Patricia Barrett from St. Vincent Meals on Wheels today and discussed what the MOW program needs in terms of a web design team. Patricia and her IT person, Yuri, were very excited to start working on the website.

I am still waiting to hear back if club members want to have weekly meetings or bi weekly meetings. I feel that if we have weekly meetings, we can get more accomplished.

We have a lot of business to discuss on the first meeting January 13, so I hope to see you all there!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

-Ryan

New News

Hello World,

Just an update. I have submitted our paper work and we are on the track to becoming an official club!

Myself and Joe Dailey (Treasurer) will be meeting with Patricia Barrett on Tuesday the 15th to discuss our project and to review what Meals on Wheels has for a website as of current.

We still need a logo design...so if you have any creative ideas for Club Web logo, send them in to clubwebhollywood@gmail.com. Until we get a logo design, I am leaving the ugly "Your Design Here" avatar up.

Good Luck on all your finals!

Meals on Wheels

I'd like to make a correction. The representative of St. Vincent's Meals on Wheels program, Patricia Barrett will be visiting us on January 27th instead of 13th. Our first meeting is still scheduled for January 13th at 5pm.

Club Web Project

Hi everyone! Looks like we have a new candidate for a project we will have a chance to work on in the near future. Terry Bailey has promised me more details to come about it in full but for now, what I can tell you is that Meals on Wheels is in need of a kickass website from a non-profit club like our own. Terry tells me that there will be a guest speaker coming to visit us on our first meeting of the new year (Jan. 13 @ 5pm).

Hope to see you there.

Welcome to Club Web!

Welcome to Club Web everyone. This blog is now set up as an online forum for us as members to be able to communicate with each other about ideas and new news pertaining to Club Web. With that being said, this is an update on where we are so far:

We are now on Facebook and Twitter, just two more ways we can keep in touch.

We are currently looking for a logo to represent us as a club and to be displayed on EVERYTHING. Facebook, Twitter, this blog, posters, and any other publications we create. Submissions can be sent to clubwebhollywood@gmail.com. There isn't a deadline, but if we could have some solid submissions before our next meeting on January 13th, we will present them and put it to a vote.

As for those posters and publications, we are also looking for a graphic designer to make all of these for us. Once we have a logo, we will need to start putting up posters around the school to bring attention to some upcoming events.

Speaking of events we need ideas for fund raising and projects we can do for non-for-profit organizations that will give us a presence in the community.

Please feel free to make a post to this blog any time. Also invite others who can contribute to our club to join up and help us with their talents.
